Powering a Large Papamoa Home & Pool with Solar.
Leon and Ra own a big, beautiful dream home in Papamoa. An expansive 300 square metres with concrete floors and a swimming pool, their home is luxurious but requires significant power to run underfloor heating and the pool.
The couple wanted to power their home with a home solar system for a stress free summer, poolside.
“Concrete floors take a lot of energy to heat and with summer getting closer, we wanted an efficient way to heat our home and pool without skyrocketing energy bills,” explains Papamoa homeowner, Leon.
The couple were keen to work with a local company and looked at a couple of suppliers.
“Cablerite came out on top because we prefer dealing with local businesses over big franchises,” says Leon.

Leon and Ra’s two story home required a large solar installation, 28 panels now power the home and outdoor area.
“We are just about to connect to the grid and looking forward to a summer enjoying the pool with cheaper energy bills,” says Leon.
“I’ve already seen the benefits of solar panels. We collect about 10 kilowatts per hour, through the panels.”
With such a big installation and Bay of Plenty’s sunshine, we’ve chosen to connect to the grid rather than a battery, but the team helped us with the necessary wiring in case we want to add a battery one day.”
